Real-World Awareness with RFID (Part 1)

The development of the SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure component focused on the integration of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology and its underlying business processes. Only in this manner can the vision of real-world awareness of IT systems come to fruition in collaboration with appropriate sensors. Part 1 of this article clarifies the integration of an ERP back end and SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure with the assistance of the SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (SAP NetWeaver XI) component. Part 2 sketches the communications requirements of a typical RFID scenario.
