Oracle completes Siebel acquisition - Internet Software - Computer Software - Technology, Software - Internet - Software - Company Announcements - M&A: "'Oracle is now the undisputed leader in customer relationship management software,' said Oracle Chief Executive Larry Ellison in a statement.
Combining Siebel's business with its own would catapult Oracle to tie with SAP, (DE:716460: news, chart, profile) of Walldorf, Germany, in the software segment, worth over $11 billion, according to industry tracker AMR Research.
AMR estimated that Oracle's share of revenue in 2005 -- including that from license, maintenance and services -- would have been 15%, tying it with its German rival. The estimate included results from Oracle, Siebel and earlier acquisition PeopleSoft Inc."
