RED HERRING SAP Plans On-Demand Product: "Seeking to counter fast-moving competitors, German software giant SAP is expected to announce plans next week to make its customer relationship management software products available over the Internet.
The move is significant because SAP had been reluctant to adopt the on-demand software model due to concerns it could cannibalize its traditional packaged software business in which software is installed from packaged CDs.
Shai Agassi, a member of SAP�s executive board, is scheduled to hold an event at SAP�s Palo Alto, California, labs on February 2 to discuss the company�s strategy in on-demand software, the company said. "
