SAP Claims Stellar Year, Readies On-Demand CRM - Customer Relations -: "German business software vendor SAP AG said it had a stellar year in 2005, with software revenues rising by 18 percent last year to 2.78 billion euros ($3.39 billion). The firm had previously told analysts that software revenues would increase only by 12 percent to 14 percent in 2005.
SAP signed contracts with customers such as Harley Davidson, Hugo Boss, and the East Japan Railway in the fourth quarter of 2005. By the end of the year, its worldwide market share against its competitors had risen to 62 percent, according to SAP's estimates.
'SAP had its best year ever in 2005,' said Steve Bauer, SAP's vice president of global communications. 'The Americas are now the growth engine of the company.' "
