SAP's Man In America - Forbes.com
SAP's Man In America - Forbes.com: "German software giant SAP Thursday posted revenue growth of 18% in the last quarter--and watched as investors, who wanted even better numbers, knocked the company's shares down.
Those kind of demands put even more pressure on Bill McDermott, who heads the company's Americas division, to deliver, but so far he has. McDermott's group, which saw software revenue increase 47% over the previous year, accounted for almost half of his company's overall software sales. This marks McDermott's 14th consecutive quarter of revenue growth despite growing competition, especially from Oracle's Larry Ellison, who revealed this week that his company is contemplating a bid for Linux distributor Novell (nasdaq: NOVL - news - people ).
Forbes.com talked to McDermott about SAP's (nyse: SAP - news - people ) new plan for 'mash-ups' using its software framework and the company's consolidating competitors"
