Shakers: EasyJet is studying a Middle East unit - Marketplace by Bloomberg - International Herald Tribune: "SAP, based in Walldorf, Germany, now generates less than 1 percent of its total sales from the country, Kagermann said during an interview in Beijing. Kagermann is among a group of executives accompanying Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany on a trip to China.

SAP plans to grow in China by tapping smaller clients, a strategy it is also applying globally as new deals with large corporations become scarcer.

To spur growth, SAP entered a partnership on Monday with the Chinese software provider Neusoft, Kagermann said. The alliance will also help SAP recruit more local workers from universities, he said. SAP plans to hire 3,500 people this year."
