heise online - SAP and IBM fined for millions: "Hungary's antitrust authorities (GVH) have found three major software providers guilty of collusion and sentenced them to pay fines worth a total of 1.5 billion forints (5.5 million euros). Specifically, SAP Hungary, IBM Hungary, and the Hungarian firm ISH met illegally to coordinate their tenders. By this means, they managed to be awarded contracts for IT equipment in five Hungarian hospitals and universities with a total value of 13 billion forints (47 million euros). The companies have stated that they would appeal the decision.
According to the authorities, the three firms met behind closed doors to coordinate their tenders so that one of them was certain to be awarded the contract. The GVH sentenced IBM and SAP to pay 690 million forints (2.5 million euros), while IBM's local partner ISH was sentenced to pay 130 million forints. "
