SAP xApps improve workflow, compliance at Canadian firm
SAP xApps improve workflow, compliance at Canadian firm: "Operating in a highly regulated industry, executives at Nova Chemicals saw composite applications as a way to eliminate costly delays and improve worker productivity in meeting strict safety, environmental and security regulations. But the composite application market is still emerging, and analysts say some issues need to be addressed before widespread adoption takes hold.
With mySAP ERP rolled out across its seven plants in Alberta, Canada, and other locations in the U.S., Nova Chemicals was in a position to reduce complexities and improve data flow between its various sites, said Karin Douglas, a project manager at Nova. Douglas addressed attendees at the recent Sapphire '06 user conference held last month in Orlando, Fla.
'We wanted to very much reduce our cycle time, because the time and effort to produce reports was enormous,' Douglas said. 'It took us six months to a year to report some data for regulatory compliance.' "
