RED HERRING | SAP Profits Amid Slowdown
RED HERRING SAP Profits Amid Slowdown: "Much of the slowdown in sales was attributed to unclosed, vital deals in time for the quarter end, executives said.
"Some deals we expected to close in the first half will close in the second half. The good news is no business was lost, and we expect to close all of them," SAP Chief Operating Officer Leo Apotheker told analysts.
Analysts showed skepticism over the disappointing results, especially given SAP's leading position for business applications and that the second quarter is usually one of the most lucrative for software companies."
