UPDATE 2-SAP misses Q2 expectations, shares slideReuters.com: "Traders and analysts had expected more after U.S. rival Oracle (ORCL.O: Quote, Profile, Research) reported strong quarterly results last month -- which at the time were widely interpreted as a sign of strength in the market that should also benefit SAP.
SAP, which has been constantly gaining market share on Oracle for years, gave no details of their respective market shares in the second quarter in a preliminary results statement on Thursday.
The German company, which makes software to automate processes including customer relations, payroll and supply chains, has defended its strategy of organic growth in contrast to Oracle's aggressive acquisition path in recent quarters."
