Bloomberg.com: Worldwide: "Software license revenue, an indicator of future maintenance and consulting fees, increased to 1.26 billion euros ($1.6 billion) from 1.18 billion euros a year earlier, Walldorf, Germany-based SAP said in a statement today, citing preliminary numbers. Analysts predicted sales of 1.35 billion euros, according to 13 estimates in a Bloomberg survey.
Software sales trailed estimates for the second time in four quarters, underscoring Chief Executive Officer Henning Kagermann's struggle to keep up growth rates as SAP introduces a new generation of software to make tasks such as payroll easier. Revenue was also hurt by a stronger euro, which reduces the value of revenue generated in the U.S., SAP's single biggest market."
