SAP's CEO may need to open up corporate wallet - MarketWatch

SAP's CEO may need to open up corporate wallet - MarketWatch: "It's not as though CEO Kagermann hasn't tried the acquisition route.
SAP attempted to buy its way into one vertical market when it made a bid for Retek Inc. in 2005. But after topping Oracle's initial bid for the retail-software maker, SAP relented after Ellison raised its offer to $640 million.
That kind of aggressive strategy is partly why Oracle's expected revenue growth for this fiscal year is 20%, significantly higher than SAP's now-estimated 11%. "
